Panellists: Juwan Yoo, who developed the iPhone “Seoul Bus” application, which crawls public transport web sites to provide real-time updates of bus arrival times for all bus stops in Seoul and its surrounding provinces.
The Young Researcher Prize is attributed every year to the best research paper from a researcher under 35. The winner of the Young Researcher Prize, Hossam Abdelgawad, presented his research paper on the topic of Transport and Innovation.
The Winner of the ITF/ UITP Award for Outstanding Innovation in Public Transport is the Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid, Spain.
The Joint Runners-up are Arriva Southern Counties and Kent Country Council, UK; Ahmedabad Janmarg, India, both for their Bus Rapid Transit Systems
Special Mention for Innovation on the Transport Horizon presented to Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB), Germany, for the easy.GO mobile travel information and ticketing service.
Special Mention for Transport Operation-Wide Application of Innovation presented to Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, India, for application of innovation through their operations incorporating management, leadership, technology, and employee services.
Special Mention for Strategic Vision of Innovation in Public Transport presented to The Swedish Public Transport Association
The objective of the 2010 award is to acknowledge innovative public transport projects or initiatives and innovative approaches for reliable, high-quality, environmentally friendly and integrated intermodal applications of public transport, now and in long-term planning.
